ED 609 Technolethical Analysis and Social Justice Plan
In ED 609, Social Justice and Technology Education, we explored technoethical issues surrounding technology used in schools and unjust social structures from the integration of that technology. Working with three peers from my cohort, we created a slideshow presentation on inequity and social injustices while using Google Meet for remote learning and virtual instruction during the COVID 19 pandemic. Following the analysis, we provided an advocacy and action plan that provided strategies for achieving equitable access and technology-related best practices for all students and teachers. The Padlet artifact includes a Twitter post concerning the arrangement of skin tones in the PixtonEDU. The company responded and changed the arrangement, moving the colors for Latinx and Black skin tones to a more prominent position.
